Audi R8 (4.2 V8)
Audi's first mid-engine supercar used a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8 from the RS4, positioned transversely behind the cabin in an aluminium space-frame. Its everyday usability, dramatic styling by Frank Lamberty, and assured quattro AWD handling made it the benchmark affordable supercar of the late 2000s.
