Saab 96 V4
The Saab 96 V4 replaced the two-stroke engine with a Ford V4, turning the 96 into an improbably competent rally car. Erik Carlsson won the RAC Rally and Monte Carlo Rally in the earlier two-stroke, and the V4 continued the tradition.
