Saab 99
The 99 was Saab's first entirely in-house designed car — a sophisticated compact with a longitudinally mounted transverse engine, front-wheel drive, and crumple zones designed by Saab's aircraft safety engineers. The 1978 Turbo version was one of the world's first turbocharged production cars and set new performance standards.
