Jaguar XJ220
When delivered, the XJ220 used a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 rather than the promised V12 — causing a buyers' revolt — but this was arguably the superior car. With 542 hp and an extraordinary aerodynamic body developed in Jaguar's wind tunnel, the XJ220 held the record as the world's fastest production car at 349 km/h for three years.
