⚡ Delco-Remy High Energy Ignition Distributor
Delco-Remy's High Energy Ignition (HEI) distributor, introduced in 1975, replaced conventional points-based systems on all GM V8s. Its built-in ignition module, vacuum advance, and externally-housed coil-in-cap design provided superior spark energy across the entire RPM range. The same HEI unit served every Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile V8 from 1975 through 1987, sharing an identical housing and connector across all brands.
