Yamaha YD1
Yamaha's first motorcycle was directly influenced by the DKW RT125 — a 125 cc two-stroke single that Nippon Gakki (now Yamaha Corporation) chose as the basis for their motorcycle venture. The YD1 followed as a 175 cc twin and established Yamaha's reputation for smooth two-stroke engines.
