Land Rover Discovery Series I
Land Rover's Discovery was designed to compete with the Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol in the family off-road market. Its stepped roofline (an Ouston Park innovation) gave more headroom in the rear, while the coil-sprung Range Rover chassis gave it outstanding off-road articulation. Designed in just 18 months, it transformed Land Rover's volume.
