🛑 Bosch iBooster Vacuum-Less Brake Actuator
The Bosch iBooster replaces the traditional vacuum brake booster on electric and hybrid vehicles, which have no engine vacuum to draw upon. It is an electromechanical actuator driven by an electric motor that responds within 150 ms — faster than a human can press the pedal — enabling predictive automatic emergency braking. The iBooster also facilitates brake energy recuperation by separating the pedal feel simulator from the actual hydraulic circuit. Volkswagen specified it for the ID.4; Porsche for the Taycan; Hyundai for the Ioniq 5/6. A single Bosch unit serves electrified vehicles across three German, Korean, and American brands.
