🛑 Wabco / HALDEX Electronic Braking System
Wabco (now part of ZF) supplies the Electronic Braking System (EBS) and ABS pump units to almost every European truck manufacturer. The Wabco OptiLink EBS integrates ABS, EBD, RSC (rollover stability control), and retarder control into a single module. MAN, Scania, Volvo, Mercedes, and DAF all specify Wabco EBS because EU regulations require EBS on all vehicles over 3.5t, and Wabco holds the dominant market share. The same hardware module and air supply valves are shared across brands — a fleet workshop can service a Scania and a Volvo with the same Wabco diagnostic tools.
