🔧 Alfa Romeo Bialbero DOHC Inline-Four
The Alfa Romeo "Bialbero" (twin-cam) inline-four engine is the heart of Alfa's sporting identity from the 1950s onward. Designed by Giuseppe Busso and refined by Orazio Satta Puliga, its DOHC architecture — rare for production cars of the 1950s — gave the Giulietta and Giulia series their legendary revving character. The same fundamental architecture served the Giulia Sprint GTA (1.6L racing version with alloy block, twin-plug head) and the 105-series Spider (1.6L/1.8L road version) — both using Alfa's twin-cam with wide-angle valves and hemispherical combustion chambers.
