🔵 Zipp 404 Firecrest Carbon Wheelset
Zipp's 404 Firecrest is the benchmark 58 mm deep aero carbon wheel used by professional teams and OEM on Trek Project One and select Specialized builds. Its Firecrest toroidal rim profile — convex rather than concave on the leading edge — was independently validated in Zipp's wind tunnel to produce negative drag at 10–20° yaw angles. The 404 FC is lighter than the deeper 808 while providing 90% of the aerodynamic benefit. Trek's Madone SLR 9 offers 404 Firecrest as the premium wheel upgrade over Bontrager Aeolus RSL.
