Jaguar XJ-S V12
The XJ-S replaced the E-Type as Jaguar's flagship grand tourer. Designed by Malcolm Sayer's successor, its controversial flying-buttress rear and sleek nose housed a magnificent 5.3-litre V12 producing 285 hp. Long-distance cruising was its forte — 240 km/h in near-silence.
