Hyundai Veloster N
Developed under Albert Biermann — the engineer behind BMW's M Division cars — the Veloster N used a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 275 hp, electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and an active exhaust that crackled on overrun. It competed directly with the Golf GTI Performance and Civic Type R.
