Chevrolet Corvette C1
America's sports car was born in 1953 with a fibreglass body and straight-six engine — an unusual start, but the C1 set in motion the Corvette legend. By 1955 it gained the famous 265 small-block V8, transforming it into the performance icon it was always meant to be.
