🔧 Detroit DD15 Diesel Engine
The Detroit DD15 is a 14.8-litre inline-six diesel that is the proprietary heart of every Freightliner Cascadia. Since Daimler Trucks acquired Detroit Diesel, the DD15 has been co-developed with the Cascadia to form an integrated chassis-powertrain package unavailable in competitor trucks. The Cascadia DD15-2008 model established the DD15 as the first production diesel to meet the EPA 2010 emissions standard while retaining 505 hp. The DD15 TC (Turbo Compound) version recovers exhaust energy to supplement crankshaft power.
