🔧 Chevrolet Small-Block V8 (265 / 283 / 302 / 327 / 350)

The Chevrolet Small-Block V8 is the most-produced automotive engine in history, with over 100 million units built from 1955 to 2003. Ed Cole's 265ci V8 of 1955 was lighter than any comparable V8 yet produced more power — it immediately went into the Corvette, Bel Air, and Impala. The 283ci "Fuelie" of 1957 was the first production V8 to achieve 1 hp per cubic inch. The 302ci DZ of the 1969 Z/28 Camaro was a homologation special for Trans-Am racing. All share the same 4.4-inch bore spacing, 90° V-angle, and lifter bore geometry — a single engine architecture serving 50 years of American automobiles.
